Great Britain turns completely online with massive growth in the online sports betting industry

The sports betting industry drives Great Britain completely online. The Gambling Commission of Great tting industry has reached its best heights in October. Great Britain Gambling Commission begins analyzing the sports betting industry amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic since it began. Based on the monthly performances, the industry gave an exceptional performance in October with a growth of nearly 29’5 in November.

The overall revenue generated from the sports betting industry summed up to nearly £290.1 million, which is nearly equal to 392 million in US Dollars. These figures show a huge growth of 53% as compared to the revenue generated in September, which was nearly about £188 million. It was registered as the highest growth past few months since the commission started registering the data amidst the novel Corona Virus pandemic.

The commission reported that several factors were responsible for this exceptional growth shown by the online sports betting industry in the past few months since May 2020. Let us have a look at some of these exceptional factors helped in registering the growth in GGY (Gross Gambling Yield).
The number of active users rose by 7 percent. The number of bets placed in the last months was up by 12 percent. Some  unusual results in the major sports tournament also played a major role in this growth. The commission recently registered the number of active users to be nearly about 2.8 million. The number of bets was registered at 5.1 billion with an increment of nearly 8 percent. These were the highest registered numbers throughout the Novel Corona Virus pandemic. The commission also registered an increment of 12 percent in the number of online slots that sums up to 27 million for the month. 2.2 million sessions were registered as sessions that lasted for over an hour.
