The rules of Texas hold`em are quite simple. Each player is dealt 2 cards, which of course should only be seen by you. Then three cards are placed on the board called the Flop. Then comes the fourth card the Turn and then the fifth card the River. Betting rounds take place prior to the Flop, Turn and River. Here you can bet an amount of your choice, after which the next player must determine whether he calls, raises or folds your bet. When the five cards have been placed on the board, you have to make the best combination with your two hold`em cards. The one who can make the best possible combination with the five community cards potentially wins the pot. If you run out of money / poker chips, you’re out. The person who is last at the table is the winner.
Deployment of the blinds
Before you start each game round, you must first set the blinds. The two players who play behind the dealer button must then place a mandatory bet (the blinds). The first player behind the button places the SB and the second player the BB, often the SB is half of the BB. Each new round this mandatory bet returns and the bet shifts 1 player. The dealer button goes clockwise after every game round. Once the blinds have been placed, the game may begin and the player behind the big blind may start betting based on their two dealt hold’em cards.
The first betting round
Once the blinds have been placed, the player behind the big blind can start calling, raising or folding. You go on to the dealer, the small blind and then the big blind that can check or raise. If someone raises before the flop comes up, it is called a preflop raise. Of course you can also bluff directly. If someone raised you can also choose to go over this, this is called a re-raise or 3bet. When all bets, calls or folds are complete, the first betting round is over.
Second, third and fourth bet round
Once the flop has been placed, the players in the hand may bet again. The first player to say it is the one closest to the dealer button. Each player can choose from folding, checking, raising or making a possible re-raise. If you choose to check, you can see the following card for free, provided your opponents have not raised for you. Once this is completed the Turn will follow, the same process follows. Then comes the River, the last card and the last possible betting round.
Showdown
Once all cards have been placed on the board and all checks, bets or folds have been completed, you must show your cards to your opponent (s). This is only if there is more than 1 player in the pot. Whoever has the highest possible combination wins the pot. If there is only one player left after the various betting rounds, the player wins the pot of the idn poker game.
